To All YOLO Board Seaside Celebration Supporters and Participants:
It is with mixed emotions that YOLO Board announces the cancelation of the 2011 YOLO Board Seaside Celebration. This spring, we found ourselves faced with the exciting challenge of choosing whether to focus our energies on the burgeoning growth of our company or to continuing to expand and improve the YOLO Board Seaside Celebration.
The demand for the YOLO Brand this year has been unprecedented, and we are excited and honored to be introducing more and more people to this great sport and allowing more people to get out on the water. Given the growth from the production side that YOLO Board is experiencing, it became increasingly apparent that as a company we could no longer produce an event of the magnitude of the Seaside Celebration internally.
The YOLO Board Seaside Celebration is near and dear to our hearts, but we felt it would not be fair to the spirit of the event and to all those involved in it to not be able to give it our every effort and attention. Growing the SUP community both locally and beyond remains a central goal of YOLO Board and we continue to do this through the expansion and continuation of local events and the sponsorship of regional and international events and races.
In 2011, we were proud to offer two local community races series – the YOLO Board Stand Up Paddle Series at WaterColor, FL and the Mileage Builder Series at Sandestin, FL. In addition, we sponsored several regional events including the including The Carolina Cup, the Lee County Bay to Gulf SUP Race , the Gulf Coast SUP Championships, the Key West Paddleboard Classic and the Watermans Paddle for Humanity. Internationally, we sponsored both Kalama Kamp Costa Rica at Vista Guapa Surf Camp and the Highland Springs HIHO in the British Virgin Islands. We will be announcing new YOLO Board sponsored events in the near future and are stoked about the attention and growth that the entire SUP community is experiencing. We look forward to seeing you out on the water, always remember 'You Only Live Once'!
